Another big welcome for another great Lucy!

We are welcoming Lucy (Cockapoo) who joined us for her first day today. She had a great time playing, especially with Chico (Lhasa Poo) and Guinness (Terrier Poodle mix). It must be a poodle thing. I ran around a bit with everyone, and so did Tiki (Golden Retriever) and Callie (Sheltie).

JJ (Lab mix) and Dodger (Golden Retriever) played in the big room. I played with them for a while but then went back to being a small dog. Blitz (Bearded mix) and Molly (Bearded Collie) joined them later in the morning. JJ and Blitz really played well together, Molly chased balls, and Dodger was more interested in snuggling with TC (Human).

Koco (Lab) came to spend part of the day with us while her mom was at class. She just had surgery on Wednesday, so she wasn't supposed to play with us and spent most of her time in a boarding suite. Don't tell her doctor, but she and I did play a little while she was on her way out the door.

Molly started today!

We are welcoming another Molly to our daycare today. Here's a picture of me and Molly (Mountain Cur) playing in the snow. We also wrestled around with Tiki (Golden Retriever) and Cooper (Golden Retriever). I am so tired from all the running around with Molly, so I'm going to find my spot on the couch and take my nap now.

Pumpkin (Border Collie/Golden mix) and Abby (Border Collie/Lab mix) came to play for the afternoon. We hadn't seen them in a while, so it's great to have them back!

Happy birthday Molly!

Today we are celebrating Molly's (Beagle) birthday. Happy birthday! My mom sang to Molly, and we all had a piece of cake at nap time. Thanks Molly's mom! Celebrating today with Molly are Molly (Yorkie mix), Molly (Bearded Collie), Cooper (Golden Retriever), Koco (Lab), Tiki (Golden Retriever), Blitz (Bearded mix), Mason (Border Collie), Jackson (Border Collie), Breezie (Boxer) and Mattie (English Bulldog). That's me and Molly in the picture.

I am too excited to wait for tomorrow's post, so I'm back to write some more. Mommy just set up a tv and vcr for us to watch dog movies in the small playroom. I'm so excited! I'm adding another picture. This one is of Molly watching a movie.

Welcome Lucy!

Today we welcome another new friend, Lucy (Golden Retriever) to the Lodge. Lucy had a great time with us. She played with JJ (Lab mix), Koco (Lab), Mason (Border Collie), Jackson (Border Collie), Cooper (Golden Retriever), Tiki (Golden Retriever), and Chico (Lhasa Poo). Chico has a huge crush on Lucy and kept following her around. She was a good sport but doesn't seem to be as into him. Chico and Jackson played chase a lot of the day. They have so much fun!

Tiki played a lot with Cooper, her little boyfriend, but always finds time to nap, too. Mason loves having all the other dogs around, but would probably be happy even if we all left, as long as there is a ball to chase.

A package came in the mail today for me. New toys for the playrooms! We have a bunch of new balls and ropes to play with. Thanks for ordering them Mom!

I had a great time this weekend with Bruno (Beagle), Carlee (Husky mix) and Cooper! Sleepover parties are so much fun!

Friday fun

We thought we were going to end the week with a quiet day, but we have a festive crowd afterall. Chase (Border Collie/Lab mix) played with Blitz (Bearded Collie mix) a lot. They are a good match. Molly (Bearded Collie) loves everyone but not as much as she loves chasing toys.
Tiki (Golden Retriever) spent a huge chunk of the morning napping on the bed in the playroom. Being here every day can be tiring. Mattie (English Bulldog) joined us later in the morning and really liked running around with Mason (Border Collie) and Jackson (Border Collie).
We also had two new dogs here for a spa treatment. Coco and Kalbey had baths, nail trims and ear cleanings. Hopefully they will be able to join us for playdates soon.

I should have been a sheep

What a difference from yesterday! We have Molly (Bearded Collie), Blitz (Bearded mix), Jackson (Border Collie), Mason (Border Collie) and Callie (Shetland Sheepdog) representing the herding breeds. Some of them really enjoy directing the flow of traffic in the playrooms. We have JJ (Lab mix), Koco (Lab), Taylor (Lab), Cooper (Golden Retriever) and Tiki (Golden Retriever) representing the retrievers. Jager (German Shorthair Pointer) is an honorary retriever today. He has probably chased the most balls and toys. There is a lot of running around and wrestling. All this activity is making everyone thirsty. Check out the picture of everyone gathering around the water bowl. Or are they all gathered around the water cooler for some gossip?

Here's a little something for them to gossip about. We may have some romances blossoming in the small room. Chico (Lhasa Poo) seems to have a crush on Callie, who is playing hard to get. You can see him checking her out in the picture, but she's looking away. Another potential romance - Tiki and Cooper are inseperable. They are still uncoordinated and fall all over each other into a pile of golden fluff. In the large room, JJ and Koco may be falling in love, too. They play together all day, and JJ really looks out for Koco, making sure no one else plays too rough with her.

Morgan (German Shorthair Pointer) joined us after nap time for a little visit!

Slow day

Dodger (Golden Retriever) joined us for the first time today. Welcome Dodger! Although he is a retriever, he preferred running, especially out in the yard with me and Sage (Pug). He's going to start coming every Wednesday!

Some of our normal Wednesday guests are coming other days this week or are just taking the day off. It gives me a chance to rest up from the busy day we had yesterday. I need my beauty sleep so I'll be ready for the big crowd tomorrow.

More new friends at the Lodge

Today we welcome two more new friends to the Lodge! Molly (Yorkie/Bichon mix) and Breezie (Boxer) each joined us for a half day this morning. They each fit in well and we are happy to say will be joining us every Tuesday!

JJ (Lab mix), Koco (Lab) and Mattie (English Bulldog) played in the large dog room with Breezie. Mattie really likes to play tug!

Cooper (Golden Retriever), Tiki (Golden Retriever), Molly (Beagle) and I played with the new Molly in the small dog room.

The camera in our small dog room has been down for a couple of days. We're hoping to get it working again tonight.

Just another manic Monday

After a weekend off, I'm back at the Lodge for a week of fun! Today we are welcoming Jethro (Lab/Shepherd mix) for his first day. Jethro has been here for training class, but this is his first daycare day. Jethro is having a great time with Hank (Shepherd mix), who he knows from school. They are a perfect match and will both be going home tired today. JJ (Lab mix) was back for a half day today. We had missed him while he was gone last week. He started the morning with Jethro and Hank in the large dog room, but decided to be a small dog for the rest of the morning. He played with me, Tiki (Golden Retriever), and Chico (Lhasa Poo).
My mom got a phone call today, letting us know that Boomer (Coonhound) may have a forever family! We'll know more tomorrow. Hooray for Boomer!!!

TGIF

When will this bitter cold end? We beagles are not made to be cold. I would much rather be snuggled inside than outside playing today. For some reason, a few of our guests today don't seem to mind the cold at all.

We would like to welcome Destiny (American Pit Bull Terrier) who had her first day of daycare today. She seemed to really enjoy playing tug with Jager (German Shorthair Pointer). Mason (Border Collie) and Jackson (Border Collie) did a lot of running and ball chasing. When they are in the outside play yard, they can really move. I think the grip is better out there than inside the playrooms.

Boomer (Coonhound) and Tiki (Golden Retriever) did a lot of resting today. Boomer's going on a sleepover tonight and heard it's going to be a lot of fun. Tiki is just worn out from coming to daycare all week.

Snow day!

We started the day today with a nice steady light snowfall. We loved it! I'm adding a picture of Mattie (English Bulldog), Bingo (Border Collie mix), Mason (Border Collie) and Jackson (Border Collie) out enjoying the flakes. Today was the first day for Mason and Jackson. They loved it! We hope to see them often. They mix well with us small dogs and play well with the bigger dogs, too.

Cooper (Golden Retriever) really likes to play with Tiki (Golden Retreiver). They are both little babies still and just topple over sometimes - so cute! This morning we also had Callie (Sheltie) here. She loves watching us play but wasn't as crazy about the snow as the border crew. Guinness (Terrier mix) joined us for the afternoon. He and I are almost the same size and really like running together.

Blitz (Bearded Collie mix) and Molly (Bearded Collie) were here today. They ran like crazy dogs while outside with Boomer (Coonhound). They looked great with their fluffy coats flowing in the breeze. It's amazing how high Boomer can jump. He can clear Molly in a single bound. They also had a great time playing with Koco (Lab), Bingo and Mason.

Mattie had her first day back after eye surgery. We're glad she's doing well and are excited to be seeing her more often again.

Taking it easy today

I'm spending a lot of my day napping today. I took part of the morning off from work to nap on the couch and on the bed at home. Then I came to work and spent naptime on the couch in the office. Now I'm finally thinking about playing some with today's guests for the afternoon.

Lily (Weimeraner) is here for her second day of daycare. She seems to like us, but isn't ready to play much yet. Molly (Puggle) joined us for the afternoon and seems to be having a great time. She is running around with Chico (Lhasa Poo), Koco (Lab) and Boomer (Coonhound) while Lily supervises things.

We are missing two Wednesday regulars - JJ (Lab mix) and Sage (Pug) who are both recovering from surgery this week.

Cindy Lou, we'll see you...

Cindy Lou (Boston Terrier) has become one of my good friends. She's been staying at the lodge since a few days before Christmas. Her mommy and daddy picked her up today. Cindy Lou had a little spa treatment on the house before she left. Now she is looking good and smelling extra fresh. We'll miss seeing her, but are sure she's glad to be home with her family. Molly (Beagle), Chico (LhasaPoo) Tiki (Golden Retriever) and I waved goodbye and hope she comes back soon!
Boomer (Coonhound) and Koco (Chocolate Lab) have been playing hard all day. Koco loves to run around and be chased, then run under the bed. She's going to be visiting us three times this week, so things are going to stay lively.
We just got a call from Molly (Bearded Collie) and Blitz (Bearded mix) that they are going to join us for the afternoon. The people here should get their throwing arms warmed up. Molly can chase balls and ropes all day.

Monday

What a busy day of playing! I was entertaining two Golden Retriever puppies (Cooper and Tiki) along with a Beagle (Molly), a Boston Terrier (Cindy Lou) and a Lhasa Poo (Chico) all morning. I was also trying to listen and monitor the dogs next door. It sounds like they were really playing hard. They should all be very tired. I know I was ready to sleep at naptime. I crashed on the couch in the office.
The crowd is usually a bit calmer in the afternoon, so I tried to break us all out to liven things up. We didn't really get anywhere, but we had Deb jumping.
I just said goodbye to Hank. He says he had a great day playing in the big room.
