Hunter is a shepherd mix who is looking for a family. He has been playing at the lodge and working on training with our staff. He learned sit really fast. Please let my mommy know if you or someone you know is looking for a new family member. <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXtP6WjDRqhEH-e0TghU-DclSp3Z3NJoaXTg7NUnrqphTwVqRp4RDlhnytlhsfhMK3THxYxHadNnIBb6MjAOQodLKdRtei9qfmRJM0u1wavM2TqzCm2D8zaQyUJ_OwbFg350turXOVoNc/s640/blogger-image--1235636077.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXtP6WjDRqhEH-e0TghU-DclSp3Z3NJoaXTg7NUnrqphTwVqRp4RDlhnytlhsfhMK3THxYxHadNnIBb6MjAOQodLKdRtei9qfmRJM0u1wavM2TqzCm2D8zaQyUJ_OwbFg350turXOVoNc/s640/blogger-image--1235636077.jpg" /></a></div>Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-90118495099317772322011-10-18T09:45:00.000-04:002011-10-18T09:45:08.044-04:00Blueberry Vanilla FacialsNothing says pampering like a good facial. I heard from our groomer Tara that they are actually good for me, too! They help clean up tear stains and muzzle stains. Some of my friends, especially some of the little white pups, have to get those tear stains cleaned regularly. Just one facial will dull the stains, and frequent facials can eliminate them completely.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqStR9IFaMrf_ddvD8CreBzMdLD1w2rBfVEHLW_PvUrMJltXCJfSh4F6EOLXTzU4OarjoeiVQhUJPMhswuOF6vHM80DNH843EiOr7UjIImIx6rykChFj9nVAuCb0CqAq118IULiV3W8yc/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqStR9IFaMrf_ddvD8CreBzMdLD1w2rBfVEHLW_PvUrMJltXCJfSh4F6EOLXTzU4OarjoeiVQhUJPMhswuOF6vHM80DNH843EiOr7UjIImIx6rykChFj9nVAuCb0CqAq118IULiV3W8yc/s320/007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Tara says the facials are gentle on the eyes. They help exfoliate and hydrate, leaving a softer complexion. My bulldog friends smell so clean and fresh after a blueberry vanilla facial. Of course, I always look gorgeous but feel even prettier after my facial. Any food. Any time. Any place. So, when my mom announced that I would be switching to Sojos raw food for breakfast, I was ready to try it. That stuff is amazingly yummy! My older brother Bruno, also a beagle, has made the switch with me. He is a bit more finicky, so his approval of the food may mean a little more than mine. We are eating it for breakfast and still getting kibble for dinner.<br />
My mom makes up several batches at a time and puts them in the fridge. She says it is easier than making the food right before meal time. (It has to sit for at least an hour to absorb the water when prepared.) We like the smell of the Sojos Complete Turkey blend the best, but the Complete Beef is also delicious.<br />
I had my annual exam with my doctor just before making the diet switch. Mom is hoping the new food will help me lose 2-3 pounds. I'll go get weighed in a few weeks and will report back. I think I should be allowed to splurge on some extra treats as a reward for any weight loss. Sometimes having a vet tech for a mom is a bummer. I don't think she will do along with my plan.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-83849921724512703862011-08-01T13:53:00.000-04:002011-08-01T13:53:31.594-04:00Bravo frozen raw foodMy mom and the other trainers at the lodge talk a lot about nutrition. Apparently, the right food can help with behavior, keep you healthy and can be extra tasty. A woman with an amazing name (Betty) owns a company that makes and sells frozen raw food. She stopped by the lodge earlier this summer to meet with mom and John. They think Bravo sounds like a great addition to the foods offered at the lodge.<br />
We are getting a freezer delivered to the lodge on Wednesday and will soon be getting our first shipment of Bravo. I am so excited about tasting it. It sounds delish!<br />
Here's the website for Bravo, in case any of you would like to read up on the food some more. <a href="http://www.bravorawdiet.com/rawdiets.html">http://www.bravorawdiet.com/rawdiets.html</a>Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-16608282660745619682011-07-27T16:26:00.000-04:002011-07-27T16:26:28.680-04:00I have a new sister!Scout is my new little sister. She is now coming to work with me, and will be helping to run the lodge. She is only four months old, so likes to play with friends a little more than me. I am more of a nap on the couch and get a belly rub kind of girl. Of course, Scout likes those things, too.<br />

I have swapped training stories with some of my friends, and can't believe how many different training styles exist. My mommy trained me using lures and rewards. She still ignores me when I jump up, and doesn't feed me when I try to jump up to peek at the dinner table. (Lucky for me, I have a three-year-old girl who slips me food.) I sit for my dinner and for treats. I get a "good girl" when I potty in the yard.<br />
Some of the training classes at the lodge use clickers. Those are fun, too. Click = treat! We dogs love to work for clicks.<br />
I have heard of dogs who are fitted with choke chains and prong collars as the first step in training. I feel so lucky that I have never worn either of those. Yes, I probably would have learned how to sit if one was used on me, but I would also be much less trusting. I like to do what I'm asked because there may be something in it for me (praise, a belly rub, or maybe a tasty treat). I would hate to be put in the position to do something because I would be hurt for not doing it. I don't do well with pain.<br />
For those people who say the prong or choker don't hurt, you are wrong. My friends who have been forced to wear them say it hurts. The reason it works in training is because of the pain. Use gentle leaders, harnesses and other humane tools to teach us, and always let us know you love us and would never hurt us.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-6441626813523824572011-03-30T16:14:00.000-04:002011-03-30T16:14:13.311-04:00I'm ready to Bark & Wine!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYnEZ7KthSIiBURJkwsLNGJUDse8WsqzZfYQwVq8EWTv1kh20y0md7v1NT4RuCzMxqbmEdeSMO5Ie0sXI6YdBYWmgqvLgyvZEMfh2UnhJzdMg7IO7ZWxRDxtPygiSxcIRHP6Q-DdwAg18/s1600/bark+and+wine+flyer+April+11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYnEZ7KthSIiBURJkwsLNGJUDse8WsqzZfYQwVq8EWTv1kh20y0md7v1NT4RuCzMxqbmEdeSMO5Ie0sXI6YdBYWmgqvLgyvZEMfh2UnhJzdMg7IO7ZWxRDxtPygiSxcIRHP6Q-DdwAg18/s320/bark+and+wine+flyer+April+11.jpg" width="247" /></a></div>Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-44592391075164571452011-02-08T11:32:00.000-05:002011-02-08T11:32:21.284-05:00Foster pups!My mommy and I are hoping to help our foster pups all find new homes for Valentine's Day. We have Tucker, a mixed breed boy, around a year old who is such a love. He has a huge crush on Daisy the boxer, so he's hoping to find a home near her. (or one that will bring him to the lodge to play) He loves kids, and does well with big or little dogs. He's really not that much bigger than me, so he is a solid "medium" size.<br />
Alvin is a beagle boy. He looks a lot like me, so you know he's a good looking boy. He seems to love every person and every dog he meets. He does have a loud singing voice. I think it's beautiful, but I've heard some people don't like the beagle bay. (What are they thinking?)<br />
Finally, we have a litter of six golden mix puppies: Cooper, Copper, Newman, Cookie, Cathy, and Honey. They are around 4 months old and having a great time learning how to play with new friends. They moved up here from NC.<br />
Valentine's Day is a time for loving. These pups would all like to have a family to love them forever. I hope they can be lucky like me.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-51412580521805381132011-01-25T21:28:00.000-05:002011-01-25T21:28:55.690-05:00State of my couchWith the cold weather, I have been spending a lot of time on my couch - the one at home and the one in the office at the lodge. From my office couch, I watch so many dogs who can't wait to get into a playroom to see their friends. I see so many people who are happy to leave their furry family members with the lodge staff, and they are even happier to pick up a tired dog later. From my couch, I see a lot of good.<br />
This week, I hope to see someone stopping by to meet Tucker, our foster dog, and I will see Judd heading to his new home. From my couch, life looks good. Of course, it could be better with room service. Steak anyone?Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-59590075915530942782011-01-03T19:18:00.000-05:002011-01-03T19:18:22.994-05:00Happy New Year!I am ready to make 2011 the best year ever! My mom and I love working at the lodge, and meeting so many wonderful dogs and their people. I think the people who like to give belly rubs by the front door are the best. :) I'm hoping to convert some more people into belly-rubbers this year.<br />
Mom is hoping to get more dogs started on training early. She says starting with puppy kindergarten before your dog is 4 months old is the best thing you can do for your puppy. I did it, and look how great I turned out. She must know what she is talking about.<br />
<br />
I look forward to seeing you by the front door often.<br />

We even had a new beagle come for her first day today. Of course, she did amazingly well with the crowd. In fact, we had a very beagley group today - Bandit, Patches, Daisy, Clover and me. Plus we had a half beagle in with the big dogs - Stacks.<br />
<br />
While counting the days until Santa comes with presents for me, I want to take a minute to remember the people who make my life so wonderful - my two kids who always sneak me bites of their dinner, my staff at the lodge who let me run the place, my friends who visit me every day, and their parents who are always happy to see me when I'm working as the official greeter in the lobby. <br />
<br />
I can't imagine that there are dogs who don't have families at the holidays. Through our training programs and by fostering dogs who need homes, we are doing our part to keep the shelters empty. Plus, I keep trying to tell my daddy that we are ready to add another pup to the family. He keeps saying three is enough, but mommy and I may convince him one of these days. <br />
<br />
Merry Christmas to you all!<br />

Any free time is taken up by my very important naptime on the office couch. We have been breaking attendence records all summer. Our busiest day has been 42 dogs (not counting me, staff dogs or foster dogs). <br />

We're going out with a great party, playing late into the night. We have two rooms of high energy. Ben (Heeler mix), Boomer (Golden Doodle), Brok (Boxer), Capone (Doberman), Daisy (Boxer), Jade (Rottweiler), Jager (German Shorthaired Pointer) and JJ (Lab mix) are in the big room. They like to chase bubbles, balls or each other. There is also a lot of singing going on in there. JJ keeps running up the big slide and seems to be the only on in the room who can do it. Jager likes to grab a toy, have the crowd chase him, then run into a crate for a break. Daisy and Brok seemed to realize half way through the night that they both like to box. What a good pair! Jade and Boomer are happy to chase or wrestle anyone who walks by. Capone is an expert at getting a butt scratch. He'll run around with the dogs then casually rub up to the staff. Ben is an expert bubble catcher and has a new BFF in JJ.<br /><div>In the small room we have Emmit (Beagle), Maya (Border Collie/Spaniel mix), Otto (English Setter), Izzy (Lab), Koda (Shepherd mix), Chloe (Brittany), Kimber (Pomeranian), Rudy (Border Collie mix), Mack (Mix), Zoey (Lab mix), Lexus (Pug), and Zoey (Mix). Rudy and Maya are running a lot. Otto has a little crush on Koda. Lexus, Emmit and Izzy really liked chasing bubbles. Mack started out at full speed of running and playing, took a little break and was playing hard with Zoey again by 9pm. Chloe and Kimber are taking turns running around and napping on the bed. Camo (Lab) and Finley (Golden Retriever) were here for the beginning of the party but both headed home for the night. They had been playing all day and looked exhausted.</div><div></div><div>Happy New Year!</div><div>Betty and all her friends at the Lodge</div>Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-31125532554111845382009-11-23T13:48:00.002-05:002009-11-23T14:01:56.919-05:00I am thankful for...I am thankful for my many friends at the lodge. We are starting out our Thanksgiving week with a great group of dogs! In the large room we have Koco (Lab), Daisy (Lab), Kozar (Mixed), Parker (English Bulldog), Raena (Rottweiler mix) and Emmy (German Shepherd). Parker and Kozar have really hit it off. They played so hard together, that Parker put himself in a crate for a mid-morning break. Koco and Emmy had a great game of chase and peek-a-boo around the large slide. Daisy and Raena did a lot of running, but both made sure to get plenty of petting from the staff.<br /><br />In the small room we have Lily (Bichon), Diamond (Bichon), Crystal (Bichon), Cooper (Maltese), Ollie (Cockapoo), Chico (Lhasa Poo), Izzy (Lab), Camo (Lab), Brady (Lab), Molly (Mountain Cur), Chloe (Yorkie Poo), Jackson (Springer Spaniel), and Otto (English Setter). Izzy, Brady, Camo and Ollie were playing rough together, wrestling and running. They were exhausted by nap time. Chloe loves to get the other dogs to chase her. Then she runs under the slide, where only she can fit. Otto joined in on the chasing, but also hung out with the white dog brigade.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-46587467662544032082009-10-13T18:26:00.002-04:002009-10-13T18:31:19.172-04:00Goodbye WinnieI am so sad to tell everyone that my big sister Winnie (Beagle/Border Collie) died last week. Mommy and the rest of the family have been very sad. Winnie is the dog on our logo and was almost 16 years old. She was loved and will be missed.<br /><br />On a happy note, we had a great crowd today! I was especially excited about a new puppy who joined us for the first time, Penny (Beagle). She came with her big sister Lucy (Beagle) and had a great time. Molly (Beagle) was happy to have her with us, too. Go beagles! There were a lot of other great dogs, including one of my best friends, Koco (Lab). I miss the days when Koco was a small girl like me.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-36191832785295703232009-09-20T21:47:00.003-04:002009-09-20T22:05:29.708-04:00Goodbye my friend.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-lG82cz0EyiniGSjzW8CvuxO8mfr7jELHDnS-OuumHwbj9FCXvXpfOEWRr7FGsiS9s3PHq_ucGDrKQcfD3Xld2cY4xUKel_7UfyujmNL2B4qYNKc7mJ6yvU6VZXYY6cnGjOEcpWGkVig/s1600-h/009.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5383735656914898146" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-lG82cz0EyiniGSjzW8CvuxO8mfr7jELHDnS-OuumHwbj9FCXvXpfOEWRr7FGsiS9s3PHq_ucGDrKQcfD3Xld2cY4xUKel_7UfyujmNL2B4qYNKc7mJ6yvU6VZXYY6cnGjOEcpWGkVig/s400/009.JPG" /></a><br /><div>I am so sad to have learned that I lost a good friend. The biggest is in our lobby. Our retail boutique is taking it over. Mommy just put out some new Halloween toys that look great. She told me I can't have one, that they are for our guests. If that's not enough for me to handle, the food moved, so I now have a new shelving unit to guard as my friends leave. I keep hearing the food isn't all mine, but I find that hard to believe. Molly (beagle) inspected it all when she was leaving today, and declares the expansion a good thing. Hopefully she can help me sample some new treats.<br /><br />Some dogs were too focused on playing to even notice the changes: Hank (Bernese/Shepherd mix), Koco (Lab), Boomer (Labradoodle), and Dozer (Husky). Avery (Lab/Pitbull mix) and Raia (Doberman/Pitbull mix) played hard with Jade (Rottweiler), Daisy (Doberman/Pitbull mix) and Mulligan (Golden Retriever). Mackenzie (Lab mix) joined the crowd in the afternoon. She may have a little crush on Hank. Over in the small dog room, Taffy (Corgi) played with Milo (Lab mix), Brandy (Shiba Inu), Molly (Mountain Cur) and Cooper (Maltese). Dozer got to spend a little time in the small room, too. He loves to run and wrestle, and is so excited about his parents' wedding this weekend. Congrats!Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-88650523497947057212009-09-03T13:01:00.003-04:002009-09-03T13:49:50.016-04:00The last days of summer<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhztVV80EMgjPTNTUwF8KgDgXDOLAk4e3aalk70t93FreciIKlpIqLTZscI3cYUG67RQrUGBNmS2QBdAlnofKD5F_GuEMMGn8HQlnr3VW68Z7vMjlASwBpUWkkU810RvxZHK-jjJe1RpR8/s1600-h/003.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377299241352407810" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhztVV80EMgjPTNTUwF8KgDgXDOLAk4e3aalk70t93FreciIKlpIqLTZscI3cYUG67RQrUGBNmS2QBdAlnofKD5F_GuEMMGn8HQlnr3VW68Z7vMjlASwBpUWkkU810RvxZHK-jjJe1RpR8/s320/003.JPG" /></a>I have had a super busy summer, and have loved meeting all of my new friends. Now that school is starting back, it looks like we are going to have a few less friends sleeping over during the week, but many more coming just for the day. Today we have some regulars and some newbies.<br /><div>Annie (Airedale), Morgan (German Shorthair Pointer), Chelse (German Shorthair Pointer), Maddie (Shih Tzu), Maya (Border Collie mix), Sadie Blue (Australian Shepherd), Brandy (Shiba Inu), Ollie (Cockapoo), Gunny (Boxer), Mason (Border Collie), Jackson (Border Collie), Tiki (Golden Retriever), Daisy (Doberman/Pitbull mix), Avery (Lab/Pitbull mix), Raia (Doberman/Pitbull mix), Ruthie (St. Bernard), Zeus (St. Bernard), and Koco (Lab) are all here having a great time today.</div><br /><div>The weather is perfect, so we have the overhead doors open for us to run in and out. We also have some water in our turtle pool. Maya and Sadie really like that! Annie liked chasing balls and running around with Maya, Sadie and Ollie. I played for a while with Mason, Jackson, and Avery. The boys were actually able to pull themselves away from the balls for a few minutes. :) Koco and Ruthie just met today but are already great friends. Koco kind of likes having a friend who is bigger than her. Ruthie also loves playing with Zeus. Raia and Daisy liked playing peek-a-boo from under the big slide in the playroom. Silly girls.</div>Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-79158185048326328532009-07-16T12:42:00.005-04:002009-07-16T12:53:27.979-04:00What a busy month!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlIMQwPtIBjrCC0ky4Yz1M4XGkNxrtOTIk5ZDiDSiwD0qLDX2mfaoJROdVxcofm-rxOd-a-r1phjHdNpdvkP48hm56DMlUS-wowoDGFghG4ghqOgWdq5Ys6ae9NaAOX3QdKNu36OrzB1g/s1600-h/023.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 315px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5359101710079883154" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlIMQwPtIBjrCC0ky4Yz1M4XGkNxrtOTIk5ZDiDSiwD0qLDX2mfaoJROdVxcofm-rxOd-a-r1phjHdNpdvkP48hm56DMlUS-wowoDGFghG4ghqOgWdq5Ys6ae9NaAOX3QdKNu36OrzB1g/s320/023.JPG" /></a><br /><div><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5359100988813964578" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbFVWCffIBYNJPRvB6JHa7G3tub9dwxnWjDjupElT9YaZEjbSwVOxbcwOR2YDirHZGjRvUOTy3YhXg3eyMvODeBmC4I8YxKMW8Fv__RKHCHo45HNZ2DqMaRcRDiOR9K35hLCQaKtDQ56I/s320/004.JPG" />It's a lot of work running the lodge during the busy summer travel season. I am having a blast with all my new friends.<br /></div><br /><div>The pools are out almost every day for us to splash around. We have lots of new friends joining us every week for vacation. I bet some of the dogs have more fun here with us than their people do on their own trips. We have pools to play in, blankets to nap on, and lots of people to pet us. This is the life!<br /><div><div><br /><div>Theo (Lab), Dyson (Jack Russell Terrier), Hanna (Pug), Hailey (Pug), Avery (Lab/Pitbull mix), Rusty (Sheltie), Rusty (Hound mix), Barrett (American Bulldog mix), Scruffy (Shih Tzu), Summer (Shih Tzu), Maggie Mae (Lab/Border Collie mix), Dexter (American Eskimo), Jaycie (Springer Spaniel) and I made up the crowd in the small room this morning. Theo took a little break from the action to get his bath and pedicure just before nap time. Avery, Theo and Jaycie ran around playing chase with Dexter. Dexter and Jaycie also did some splashing in the pool.</div><br /><div>Foxy (Golden Retriever), Romney (Lab/Golden mix), Harley (Lab), Raia (Doberman/Pitbull mix), Tiki (Golden Retriever), Raena (Rottweiler mix) and Koda (Shepherd mix) loved the pool today. Romney, Harley and Tiki were probably in the water at least as often as they were out of it. </div><br /><div>Other news from the week:</div><br /><div>Otto (English Setter) has a crush on Maya (Border Collie/Spaniel mix), and maybe a little crush on Carlee (Husky mix) too. Otto has been quite the ladies man, also playing a lot with Zoey (Lab mix) this week.</div><br /><div>JJ (Lab mix) somehow made it through a week without Koco, by keeping busy with Koda and Harley.</div><br /><div>Rather than mud wrestling, we had a few sessions of pool wrestling. Blitz (Bearded Collie mix) and Harley were the champs.</div><br /><div>Newt (Yorkie) has a major crush on Mackenzie (Lab/Border Collie mix) and couldn't stop following her around. She didn't mind, but also didn't seem to feel the same way about him. It's tough being a little guy.</div><br /><div>Chico (Lhasapoo) also has a crush on Maya. It must be those beautiful blue eyes.</div></div></div>Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-63305010106675275282009-06-08T13:47:00.002-04:002009-06-08T14:01:37.884-04:00Feeling like summer today!We started the day today with the overhead doors open, but we were relaxing in the air conditioning by lunchtime. Ashley (human) filled one of the pools for us. Tiki (Golden Retriever) and Cooper (Yorkie) enjoyed the water the most, and got completely soaked. Mason (Border Collie) chased balls a lot, ran around with Otto (English Setter), Chico (Lhasa Poo) and Cooper. Daisy (Doberman/Pit mix), Raia (Doberman/Pit mix), Avery (Lab mix), and Zoey (Lab mix) had their little clique going again. Newt (Yorkie) chased Mason while Mason chased balls. Everyone had so much fun!<br />Molly (Mountain Cur), Duke (Rhodesian mix), Romney (Lab/Golden mix), Mattie (English bulldog) and I (Betty the beagle) were the big dogs today. Mattie and I really wrestled a lot, and the others tried to keep up with us. Everyone was ready for nap time.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-81328944063984322862009-06-01T14:34:00.002-04:002009-06-01T14:46:21.596-04:00Welcome Huffy and Romney!We have two new friends so far this week at the lodge! Huffy (Staffordshire mix) and Romney (Lab/Golden mix) had a great time together. They are new BFFs, but they played well with Avery (Lab/Pitbull mix) and Tiki (Golden), too. Raia (Doberman/Pitbull mix) was reunited with her littermate Daisy today after over a week apart. They were thrilled to see each other. Cooper (Yorkie) still has his crush on Zoey (Lab mix). Otto (English Setter) wanted to play with Mason (Border Collie), but Mason was more interested in chasing a ball. Jackson (Border Collie) was pleased to see a few of his sheep here today, Chico (Lhasa Poo) and Cooper (Maltese). He loves to circle the room as if he is herding them. I'm not sure if they really know what Jack is trying to do. This afternoon, the swimming pool came out. We used it more as a water bowl than a place to swim today. Huffy loves to play tug with Raia and Avery, or anyone really.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2339529938555172305.post-89451970755477493712009-05-29T14:22:00.002-04:002009-05-29T14:32:57.240-04:00Cooper falls in love!Cooper (Yorkshire Terrier) has developed quite the crush on little Zoey (Lab mix). He was fawning over her all day. Zoey didn't seem to mind the attention. I wonder if she likes him back. Avery (Lab/Pitbull mix) and Raia (Doberman/Pitbull mix) enjoyed their time together as always. Guinness (Terrier mix) and Einstein (Eskipoo) did a lot of running around. Tiki (Golden Retriever) wrestled with Avery. My buddy Maya (Border Collie/Spaniel mix) loves climbing the jungle gym in the room. She should look into taking gymnastics lessons, or maybe agility.Cold Nose Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781041126239939740noreply@blogger.com0
